Construction begins on Highland Commons in West Allis
In August 2011, Cardinal Capital Management began demolition for a new project, Highland Commons, located at 6700 West Beloit Road, West Allis. The site formerly served the West Allis Community for many years as St Joan Antida Nursing Home and fell into disrepair. The new $9,426,000, project will be built by Reichl Construction and financed by Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA). Highland Commons will provide 50 units of affordable housing with services beneficial to person’s recovering from mental illness. Building amenities address multiple disabilities including; fully accessible ADA apartments, ramps, elevators, grab bars, flashing smoke detectors (with horns) and other amenities that appeal to a wide range of persons with disabilities and income qualified persons without any specific disability need. We also have for all residents a fitness center, library, technology center, community space, underground parking, owner paid heating and cooling and window treatments.
