United House Apartments
United House Apartments (UH) are Milwaukee's first affordable supportive housing for persons experiencing mental illness. UH, located at 2500 West Center Street, Milwaukee provides 24 one bedroom apartments. Building features include: central heating and cooling, underground parking, storage, laundry, technology center, fitness center, library, lounge, community room and outdoor patio.
Onsite supportive services and peer support are provided by Our Space Inc and building management is provided by Cardinal Capital Management. All applicants must be receiving services from the Milwaukee County Service Access to Independent Living Program.

Officials estimate 1,000 permanent residential units are needed in Milwaukee County to adequately serve the mentally ill and reduce the number of emergency room visits at area hospitals.
Milwaukee County and a local developer are trying to solve the problem 24 units at a time.
